Best Choreography & Best Lighting Design.- Currently, Boom Kat is working on a new Holiday project.- 20 past and present Boom Kat dancers just shot a music video for the band The Rescues to the song "Can't Stand The Rain." ETC

ETC Theatre Company is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, entertaining, inspiring, and creating community through music, theatre, and dance.

For the past 5 years, ETC has formed a partnership with Boom Kat, helping the company produce its shows and grow.

ETC and Boom Kat have also partnered for outreach programs , bringing music, theatre and dance to retirement homes, across Los Angeles, Children's Institute International (a foster care center for kids), and hospitals.

LILI FULLER - Artistic Director/Co-founder Lili is an actor/choreographer in Los Angeles. Currently, she works for the University of Southern California, choreographing various School of Theatre productions, including the main stage musical. She has also worked with the LA Opera, Starlight Theatre, and ETC Theatre Company. She has also choreographed several music videos, most recently for The Rescues and for the feature film In My Sleep. She has won the award for Best Choreography twice at the International Championship for Collegiate A Cappella for her work with the SoCal VoCals. She was also a NFAA YoungARTS winner in theatre. She is a graduate of USC's School of Theatre and currently trains with Larry Moss. Lili was nominated for Best Choreography by the L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Awards for her work on Boom Kat's "NeverWonderLand." www.lilifuller.comJOE SOFRANKO -Sound Designer/Music EditorHe is a recent graduate of the BFA Acting program at the University of Southern California. He has worked with Utah Shakespearean Festival, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Company of Angels. Film:"The Whisperer in Darkness," "Prairie Dogs", "The Daughter". TV: "The Sing Off" (NBC). Joe was recognized as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts at the Kennedy Center in 2005, a Level I NFAA YoungArts Winner in 2005, and he won the National Shakespeare Competition at Lincoln Center in 2004. In addition to training at USC, he has studied acting at BADA, NYU-Paris, CCM, and with Larry Moss. Joe also sang and beatboxed with the SoCal VoCals, and is an actor/combatant in the Society of American Fight Directors. He is a member of Boom Kat Dance Theatre, and was nominated for an Ovation Award for Best Choreography for "NeverWonderLand." OUR PROCESS:In crafting each production, the company draws upon elements from theatre, literature, music, and interactive media to expand the definition of dance in the pursuit of creating something smart, something honest, and something now. Every member of the company has a distinct voice one that is powerful, and willing to be shared.Boom Kat Dance Theatres aim at making dance accessible, powerful, and relevant to the experience of modern audiences gives it the potential to bridge the gap that often exists between popular audiences and contemporary dance. The company seeks to bring audiences back to the most elemental function of theatre: to express story without words. In this way, and by consistently pushing the boundaries of movement and storytelling, Boom Kat is truly expanding the definition of dance.

History
HISTORY:Boom Kat Dance Theatre was founded in 2006 by Lili Fuller, Emily Iscoff-Daigian and Adam North with the goal of creating compelling and accessible dance theatre. In 2007 they debuted Revolutions, an episodic show that explored the term revolution from its most personal level, to its most universal.In 2008, Boom Kat embarked in a partnership with Ensemble Theatre Company, a non-profit, Los Angeles-based organization that introduced the young company into the world of non-profit performing art. That same year, Boom Kat took a leap from episodic storytelling to full-length narrative storytelling, with an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book." The Jungle Book premiered to full houses at the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica.In 2009, Boom Kat delved even deeper into the intricacies of narrative storytelling with "NeverWonderLand," an original work based on J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan" and Lewis Carroll's "Alices Adventures in Wonderland." Drawing on the parallels between Peter and Alices journeys, "NeverWonderLand" tells the tale of how the two children became the iconic characters that we know today. After a three-week, sold-out run at the Miles, Boom Kat decided to remount a re-imagined version in 2010. After story edits, re-defined characters, new musical choices, revamped choreography and the addition of Steve Edlund as a production designer to help strengthen the visual elements of the show, this production earned them two L.A. Ovation Nominations.Since then, Boom Kat has shot two dance music videos. One for the feature film In My Sleep, directed by Allen Wolf, and one for the band The Rescues directed by Colin Duffy. Both videos were choreographed by Lili Fuller, and star over 30 Boom Kat company members.Currently Boom Kat is developing a new holiday show with a full original score composed by Parmer Fuller.

Revolutions No Frame

REVOLUTIONS

Boom Kat's first show, "Revolutions," explored the cycles and breakthroughs that typify the world and our generation. The many interpretations of the word "revolution" provided the numerous points of inspiration for movement and story, resulting in pieces that addressed a diverse range of issues and events ranging from the universal and ubiquitous, to the personal and individual. As a result of the intense personal reflection that each company member underwent during the creation of this show, "Revolutions" became an exploration of the company, by the company, and in effect, an introduction of our point of view as a company.

Inspired by Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book," Boom Kat reinvented the classic story of the coming-of-age of Mowgli, an orphan raised by wolves. The show unites the primal with the contemporary using humor, wit, and emotion, and explores questions of community, alienation, and compassion. In doing so, the show illuminates universal themes that inexorably connect this timeless tale with our modern experience.

Re-imagining two of the 19th century's most beloved tales, NeverWonderLand is an original story that acts as the prequel to Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" and J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan" combined, where Alice and Peter are brother and sister. They travel to a magical land where adventures ensue and by the end of the journey they become the characters we know and love today.
